Hi everyone,

It has been on my heart for a number of years to write a devotional for military wives. While Mick has been deployed in Afghanistan I have been reading one written by American military wives which on many days has been a life line for me. God has impressed upon me that now is the time to embark on this project but rather than just have me writing it I feel His desire is to include as many Christian military wives as I can. This is a chance for us to testify to how God has helped us through the many challenges of being a military wife.
As I meet christian military wives, each has many stories to tell that I know would be an encouragement to others. By collating them we have the opportunity to reach and encourage the next generation, women we might never meet ourselves. We have the opportunity to offer encouragement and hope and wisdom to those currently walking the journey.

What I'm looking for is the stories of military wives, together with the scripture (or song if it is based on scripture) that God gave you or used to encourage you during that time. I'm looking for the real life issues that you have faced...raising children with a husband away, the mobile lifestyle, difficulties in moving, the many challenges of deployments/exercises, friendship issues, miscarriages/loss of loved ones, maintaining purity while your man is away and so on. I have attached a sample from the devotional I have been reading to give you an idea but please remember that your stories will be powerful and meaningful to women and will no doubt be quite different to the one attached. Please, if you know someone who may be interested in writing for the devotional can you forward this email to them (and guys, that includes your wives)?
