RAAF Chaplaincy 70th Birthday
ROYAL AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE CHAPLAINS’ BRANCH IS CELEBRATING ITS 70TH ANNIVERSARY
The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Chaplains’ Branch is officially celebrating the 70th anniversary of its formal inception: 1940–2010. To celebrate this milestone the RAAF Chaplains’ annual public Davidson-Doecke lecture will be given at the R1 Theatrette Russell Offices on 19 August 2010 between 1200–1300 h, followed by a thanksgiving service at Duntroon to celebrate the achievement.
The lecture is entitled—‘Agile Adaptable Capable the Royal Air Force Chaplains’ Branch in Historical Perspective’ and will be given by Chaplain-in-Chief (Air Vice-Marshal) Ray Pentland (Royal Air Force (RAF)).
Also on the same day,19th of August 2010 between 1400–1500 h, a service of thanksgiving will be held at the ANZAC Memorial Chapel of St Paul Duntroon, to celebrate the 70 years of Air Force Chaplaincy. Former and current serving RAAF Chaplains will be in attendance. Afternoon tea will follow the service at the chapel. An open invitation is offered to anyone who would like to participate in either of these two celebrations.
