Janet grew up in an Air Force family and became a Christian at 8. She attended Sunday School as a child, as well as Youth Group and Girls Brigade as a teenager. She was confirmed at 16 in a Presbyterian Church with her now husband, Mick. After leaving school she slid away from God and all Christian involvement. At the age of 23 she made the decision to wholeheartedly follow Jesus and was involved in KYB and BSF studies while attending Nowra Baptist. In 1999 she was baptised in the waters of the Torres Strait while attending an independent Pentecostal church. Whilst living in the USA in 2002 and 2003 Janet was involved in “Women of the Chapel” as well as the US Officer Christian Fellowship. It was there that God called her to become involved with ministry to the Australian military, that call was focussed in 2006 as a ministry to military wives, and so in 2007 she launched Solid Rock Ministries. Janet is married to Mick, they have 5 daughters and make their home in Brisbane.
